Qaa Scotland Enhancement Themes



The national programme of Enhancement Themes is led by the Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee (SHEEC) and managed by QAA Scotland. It aims to improve the learning experience of students studying within the Scottish higher education sector.

The Enhancement Themes are a programme of activity involving the whole higher education sector in Scotland. Staff and students collaborate on one or more topics to improve strategy, policy and practice.

4/24/2020  · The Enhancement Themes are led by the Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee (SHEEC). Each Theme is managed by the Theme Leaders’ Group (TLG) who play a key role in ensuring each Theme is successful. QAA Scotland provides support for the Enhancement Themes.

The Quality Enhancement Framework (QEF) is the enhancement -led approach to quality in Scottish higher education. Collaboration and partnership are at the heart of this innovative method. The QEF supports institutions, in managing the quality of the student learning experience.

QAA Scotland is the quality body for higher education in Scotland. It safeguards academic standards and enhances the quality of the student experience offered by Scottish higher education institutions.

Our three-year Enhancement Theme, Evidence for Enhancement: Improving the Student Experience, launched in October 2017. The Theme will reflect on data that is available within the Scottish sector to help us understand what we do well and what we could improve. We aim to identify: any issues that will benefit from intervention, In addition, institutions engage in an ELIR annual discussion with a senior QAA officer. These meetings involve staff and students and consider outcomes relating to ELIR along with a range of other activity including outcomes from institution-led review, engagement with national Enhancement Themes and student partnership activity.
